Sometimes phone asks for passcode instead of fingerprint

I have fingerprint set but sometimes it asks for passcode randomly. Why?

some phones does it for security purposes. my phone will ask at power on and off. in addition sometimes it will ask when the fingerprint don't match or when touching the screen when picking it up

From the Google support site for Android Fingerprint unlocking:

Sometimes, use your backup method

For security, you'll unlock with your backup PIN, pattern, or password after:

Your fingerprint isn't recognized after a few tries

You restart (reboot) your phone

You switch to a different user

More than 48 hours have passed since you last unlocked using your backup method

I think the fingerprint sensor sometimes detects bumps in pocket as being pressed as an incorrect fingerprint and gets enough bumps to ask for pin.
