You can root with z4 root in the marketplace.
as for roms I believe there's squidly's 2.3.2 roms, the new team fission roms, and matt just released 3.0 but its in alpha.

whats the easiest way to root after the OTA 2.3.20 update?

and what ROMS work on 2.3.20 version?

z4root is by far the easiest root method on the D2. Secondly, I would highly recommend Fission 2.2.x for a ROM. It's really clean, no bloat, and it's nearly doubled my battery life.

you're reffering to the Squidly 2.3.20 fullblur rom correct?
which is full-blur but with modifications? (Like remove bloatware, change notification bar, etc)?

I've never looked into squidly so im trying to find the best choice

Yes that's the version of squidlys rom I was referring to. As for fission check the d2 roms section. I think its 2.2.3

Edit: its 2.2.2

I see '[ROM]Fission 2.2.2 - AOSP Like Android - Fission ROM Manager'

and a little further down a ' [ROM]Fission Vanilla 2.1 - 11.13.2010 - Generic Android '

i'm assuming the 2.2.2 AOSP is the newest?

unless im missing a 2.2.3?

How so?

I click 'bootstrap recovery' and it says

"error running exec()
command: [su, -c, ./data/data/com.koushikudutta.droid2.bootstrap/files/surunner.sh] working directory; null environment: null"
