Newbi saying hello

Recently got a Galaxy S Fascinate. Not sure whether to wait for 2.2 or root and proceed. A bit concerned about voided warranty and my Black Tie warranty at Best buy. I am a bit of a HiFi geek and want to access as much from the internal DAC and power amp as possible. Any and all suggestions about where to start poking around in the forum would be helpful.:icon_eek:
