new maps update sucks

There is a lot of people over on the google maps forum having the same problem.

I just talked to Google. This rep said I need to talk to HTC, as it appears to be a HTC compatibility issue on the RZ end. I said 6.9.2 runs fine. Everyone should call as noted above.

I was hoping I wasn't alone. I hav noticed a LOT of apps do not work on my phone now and Google Maps rebooted my phone 4 times this morning before I gave up.

I've been having to use gps essentials (free from play store). I open essentials, click on satellite option, wait 10-20 second for it to have several fixed satellites, then open maps and it locks onto gps immediately. Not exactly what I would want people to go through to get one of my most popular apps working but at least it makes it useable.....

Same thing happening for my husband and me. Uninstalling updates works for now.

I spoke with Verizon Wireless Tech Support as well as Google and sent HTC Tech support an e-mail regarding the reboot issue
