How long has it been since your last phone restart?
I'm trying to get an idea of how long Android can run for before it decides to restart itself, and which phone(s)/configurations enable that kind of reliability.
My unrooted/stock Motorola DroidX on Android 2.2.1 is currently at 187 hours, and going...
(Use Menu, Settings, About phone, Status, Up time)

Thanks!

I've gone about 170 hours on a rooted D1, but that was only to flash a ROM :)

309 hours without an unexpected restart, and still going, even though the Home Screen & App Drawer constantly refreshes (slow) itself after I end any app.
Strange how this phone does not unexpectedly restart when you monitor it very closely...

Unrooted stock DroidX 2.2.1
with Lookout (antivirus enabled) and ATK (auto-kill disabled), over 200 apps, almost all of them on the phone (not SD).

A different kind of auto-restart that doesn't reset the system uptime counter?

I hooked up my DroidX to my PC via USB to back up some files.
Suddenly, I see the dreaded Verizon evil red eye, and startup apps reloading, indicating my phone restarted.
I navigated back to see the system uptime, and I notice it did NOT reset to zero!
Is this some kind of Android warm boot?
Does Ubuntu Linux (upon which Android is based?) have a warm boot option that does not zero out the system uptime counter?
I wonder how many of these warm boots have occurred which I hadn't noticed...

Good news is my home screen and app drawer does not constantly refresh/update now, and the phone seems less sluggish.
I did notice my yahoo mail client picking up email for many days on restart. Interesting how the Gmail client was not affected. Something must have plugged it up, and the warm boot must have restored it to normal operation.

Current system uptime: 324 hours.

I restart about daily my phone starts to get kind of sluggish after a bit (and its playing music all night most of the time which doesnt help). I wouldnt ever even break a week without a reboot simply because im always rebooting into recovery to flash this or that because of working on porting stuff over to d2g.

Android isn't based off Ubuntu AFAIK just linux in general. I've seen that happen too with mine (the warm reboot), just never checked the uptime to verify it. I believe theres actually an app in the market for that I think its called hotboot or something like that.

I'm currently at 3:45, beat that! lol I flash the CM7 nightlies...

Mine gets restarted daily. Always changing boot logos or animations or fonts or trying a rom.

Haven't seen my phone reboot itself for no reason in I don't know how long.

Yes, it would be sad if a phone that was restarted daily decided to reboot by itself too :)
