gingerbread for droid pro!

well I have the file downloaded. I hit install later, connected it to my pc but don't see an update.zip on the SD card.

Can someone help on this, where to find the update.zip after download it.

You should try rebooting your phone then going to system update check. I had it come up for me and initially I said later and I couldn't get it to come back until I rebooted.

At any rate, I have already installed the update. I couldn't wait because my wife wanted her phone back. I searched high and low but couldn't find the file.

I'm currently rooted and was planning on unrooting via aroot on my home computer once I get home, but according to P3Droid at Mydroidworld, a rooted Gingerbread link is supposed to drop today as well....possibly the best of both worlds....:icon_ banana:

Couple things I've noticed since the update:

1) I don't like the dark blue top bar. Black on white was much better.
2) When Haptic feedback is set to off, the 4 soft buttons at the bottom of the screen do not vibrate. Finally.

I noticed there's full call information in the call log now. Before it would just says "2 hours ago" or "3 days ago" when you went into the call detail. Now it has time and date.

I was looking through settings and saw something that i'm not sure is new or not but there's an option called pocket detection and it supposed to lock the screen when it senses you've put the phone in your pocket.

Yeah that's actually and original feature it's had from release. Kinda cool.

AHH, I guess you can tell its my wife's phone and not mine. My OG Droid is sad about this update.

I manually checked and it's coming OTA. I'm in Santa Barbara, CA.

I was so excited to see the update pop up after checking for updates when I was on 3.8.7 rooted but after completing an sbf, and after updating back to 3.8.7 there is no longer an update. This blows.

Installed, can't find an option to turn off the on-screen virtual keyboard. Seems to be popping up every time I'm entering text.

Also, didn't unroot before update. Lost root.

It evidently has started rolling out. A lot of users have received the update. Nothing for me quite yet.

but we will lose root apparently (as most updates do), but hopefully z4root or aroot will work soon?
