Well hopefully they'll accept it to pay for Play Music, but really didn't see any disclaimer when they were offering the credit,
Idk that you can use it for subscriptions either, but I hope so.

Apps, movies, books, individual songs for sure.

Got my new Google cable today. Tried it with my Aukey QC 2.0 car charger. In about 15 minutes or so, went from around 55% to around 67%.

No rapid charging, but no slow charging. I was only streaming GPM at this time.

Apparently the OnePlus cables aren't to spec either.

Google engineer: Don't buy the OnePlus USB Type-C cable | VentureBeat | Dev | by Jordan Novet

Im almost wanting to look at Google with the stink eye. I am finding it hard to believe they are the only ones who I should be buying my cables through. With that said, since I am not a phone engineer I am going to thread lightly. I bought one extra cord from google and ill wait for "approved" 3rd party cables.

That's the issue with official standards, these third party cables may have been made before the standard was set or something. Either that, or they're just unaware of the standard.

@Mustang02

I rather not start another thread since you actually got the ball rolling. Do you mind if I edit you op later to add in the cables that are safe for consumers to purchase?

Are those just cables, or chargers?

Might be nice to get a list of cables & a list of rapid charge capable/spec compliant chargers in one post.
