I rooted my 4.1 Droid 4 with the RazerBlade method. Right.

Please tell me how , ok I am not activated ? 1 do I have to be . ?2 do I need a new sim card I cut an old 1 that was responding but since reflash it says I need a new 1 to activate .Ok now to the steps
1 I have all drivers , motocast etc . I am plugged in usb on on media storage the middle box , is that correct?
2 I reset smart actions everytime it fails so I can select battery and hit save but when I hit enter nothing happens
unless I switch to camera mode and back to media quickly then it goes to device not found
step three this may take a while ok so I waited the 1 rst 2 nd and 3rd time I waited 30 minutes then went to camera mode and switched back to media again and the process went thru I received a lot of device not found but at the end it said complete and no IT WAS NOT ROOTED

PLEASE TELL ME THE TRICK TO DO IT SINCE I HAVE JB 4.1.2 OTA DO I HAVE TO USE THE UTILITYS AND WIPE AND REINSTALL JB PLEASE HELP GUIDE ME TO ROOT FREEDOM ,THANKS IN ADVANCE

You don't need to worry about having a sim or being activated. Make sure you have usb debugging enabled from somewhere in your settings.

I had to run the utility a few times for it to work, it seems buggy for everyone. I was on mass storage and it worked, most people recommend media device. Some people said they had to clear the data for smart actions, however I personally did not need to.

Keep trying, it does work.

THANK YOU EVERY ONE WHO REPLIED I am sorry if iam being redundant iam just frustrated afyer almost a week of trying to root this droid 4 on jb 4.1.2 and having no progress so AGAIN IF ANY 1 HAS A LINK AND DIRECTIONS THAT ARE IDIOT PROOF LIKE LITERLY STEP BY STEP AND CAN TELL ME WHAT THIS MEANS ? I'm running Jellybean, now what?
There are a few things to note now that you have successfully installed the Jellybean OTA.

Please perform a factory reset!
Follow steps 4-8 in the SBF section to perform a factory reset using the default recovery system? WHERE AND WHAT ARE THESE STEPS I HOLD POWER AND VOLUME UP @ DOWN GO TO RECOVERY AND THERE IS 1 OPTION WELL 2 IF YOU COUNT WIPE CACHE THEN FACTORY RESTORE WIPE ALL USER DATA WHAT STEPS IS HE TALKING ABOUT ,AGAIN I NEED SOME HELP GUYS PLEASE I NEED TO GET THIS ROOTED , DO I NEED A NEW SIM? DO I NEED TO HAVE THE PHONE ACTIVATED BECAUSE THOSE ARE THE ONLY 2 THINGS I DONT HAVE BUT CAN GET A NEW MICRO SIM SO YEA PLEASE HELP ,THANK YOU

Wiping all data from the stock recovery is the same thing as a factory reset.

And again, make sure you have usb debugging enabled and follow the razr blade utility instructions. It is screwy as it took me two times for it to work.

Most people recommend being in media device when plugged in, mass storage worked for me.

Some people recommend wiping the data from their smart actions app. Personally, I did not have to.

Just try it a few times. It does work, many people can testify to that.

Please stop using multiple threads to ask the same thing. It makes it hard to answer your questions and it's disorganizing.

phone does not need to be activated, or have a sim card, to root with razr blade
did you try my links that i posted in one of the other threads, that i replied to you in?

edit: unlocking bootloader has nothing to do with rooting
I think the rooting problem is not wiping data
try reading how-to-factory-reset-droid

reboot to Boot Mode menu
power off phone, hold both volume buttons, press power

the step you seem to be missing in getting to recover is

use Boot Mode menu, select recovery
when you see android andy, laying down, and a red triangle with a ! in it
press both volume buttons
then you should see
<img src="http://www.droidforums.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=61869"/>
select wipe data
wait for it to finish
then select reboot
