I know the Droid 2 has the capability to provide a WiFi signal but you have to have it in addition to your plan.

I know PdaNet works for tethering via USB. Is there any apps for the Droid (non rooted) that has the capability to provide a WiFi signal?

My fiance picked up the Droid 2 and I'm only slightly jealous now :icon_ banana:

To tether via WiFi you have to either use the paid plan or root.

And thats what I figured but took a short leave from the site so I didn't know if something came up over time. Rooting, if done right, your phone will run just fine I assume right?
