Will I like the Bionic?

I just got the Gingerbread update for the Charge and I am still having problems. Verizon wanted to send me another replacement and I explained how that would be my 4th phone in 5 months and that I didn't think it would fix the issue. They are now sending me the Boinic. I am very excited. Will I like the Bionic? I had the X and then went to the Charge.

I think you will, just give the screen a chance. It takes a little getting used to, but useability outdoors in sunlight is unsurpassed. You are getting a heck of an upgrade, as you are being moved from a single core device to a dual core device. Hopefully you don't live in an area where 4G is touchy, the Bionic does suffer from some data issues that seem to be more network related than device related.

It feels like a Droid X3 to me, or maybe what the Droid x2 should have been, looks similar enough, very fast device, very good at handling something like using GPS to bring up a list of pizza restaurants near you while flipping back to words with friends to send a word while receiving a text & replying then going back to un-pause pirates of the caribbean without experiencing any wait time or lag...I rooted mine & made a lot of shortcuts on processing like turning off window animations etc and my bionic is lightning fast even under heavy load.....also keep in mind the Bionic comes with master integration, web top, multiple dock stations, the lap dock to turn it into a mobile laptop...

Sorry man, but I had an X2 and the Bionic is VERY different aesthetically. I mean, yeah it looks like a 4.3in smartphone, but the X2 was way more plasticy, sharper corners, different backing shape, no chrome border (was all black), and actual hard-press buttons. The Bionic is way more like an updated version of my old Eris. Just wanted to make sure the OP doesn't go into this thinking he's getting an ugly hard-press button Bionic. Also the X2 sucked so I'd never wish that upon somebody else.

But I think you will like it, especially coming from a charge which I've heard almost nothing good about. Pretty much everything else indee said is spot on, great device for multi tasking loaded with features. I wouldn't worry about the screen, MOST people end up liking it, once you stop looking for the pentile it becomes nonexistant. Only issues you might have are data drop and battery. Plenty of ways to work with the battery, but if you're on a 3g/4g fringe area, try and stay on wifi as best as you can till the update rolls out.

As a former Charge owner, there's no comparison. The Bionic is light years ahead of the charge. I mean, it's not even close. If I rate them on a 10 scale, bionic 10 Charge 0.

Think you'll enjoy it. Seems some folks have issues with the screen, but I think it's fine. They should be fixing some other problems soon. Meanwhile, you'll find plenty of suggestions and opinions on how to minimize those issues while waiting for the update. Allot of folks Bionic's are working just fine. From what I read, there are not a whole lot better choices out there when it comes down to it. Was reading about "battery-gate" on the Mac Rumors site, would suck to be them! Think all smart-phones have some issues that irritate folks. Not a perfect world :icon_ lala:

Just be sure to buy the extended battery for it. It is a must have! Mine gets 15 to 20 hours between charges and thats with moderate to heavy use. Leave it on 3g, and u could easily get 30 hours.

I went through 5 charges before Verizon offered me the bionic and I am now very pleased. My bionic has had no issues in the month I have owned it.

After having the charge you will notice the bionic is faster, does not have the lag experienced constantly on the charge, Apps work better, call quality is much better, and I really like the screen better. Also the phone feels better built and not so plastic and cheap like the charge.

I really wanted to like the charge but it failed in all areas. The bionic is a much better phone.

Good Luck!

The Bionic is an excellent device. I would highly recommend it. Just adapt a little and you will learn how to take advantage of the so called issues.

Personally i would like a different format display while watching hbo go or nfl mobile. That Being said I really don't notice the tiling anymore. It does do a great job outdoors.

It still looks great with extended battery .....

The screen is awesome. Been naked from day 1..

I gave my wife my thunderbolt and took her bionic upgrade - so basically she got a free phone. Personally I love both phones. Im very happy with the bionic.
