WidgetLocker +*~+*~+*~+*~+*-- WOW!!!

With stock unlock screen, the time displayed also contains the percentage charged when your phone is plugged in.
I may add this to the lock screen clock widget at some point, but for now as people have mentioned there are widgets that can do this.

I'd there anyway you could make this into a home replacement?
Hrm, so the Home Helper would actually launch WidgetLocker, then you could have double-tap for QD and single tap for WL (or vice versa with PowerStrip). This would have to be an advanced configuration as it could really confuse some people. I'll think about it.

Or even cooler, is it possible to make widget locker display your default homescreen as the lock screen? Instead of making a separate screen with widget locker?
Unfortunately this isn't really possible. WidgetLocker can't read the configuration from your home app and even if it could it can't add Widgets to itself without direction interaction from the user, so it wouldn't be able to automatically stay in sync anyway.
Haha thanks, I didn't really think it was possible just thought I'd try asking anyway lol!

Hi Kevin,
I appreciate you addressing my question. If you ever do get some extra time I would love to see that integrated into the clock widget. I'm really not a big fan of the battery widgets, they always look out of place on my screens for some reason. I know it's not exactly something that would be high on your priority list but that would be really cool to add.

Thanks again.

I've definitely seen an increase in downloads since he posted that less than an hour ago. Androinica is awesome.

I love this app... how did you get your lock screen to look like that????

I'm the developer of WidgetLocker and running an experimental build :). You'll see WidgetLocker 1.2, which includes the iPhone slider and the configurable sliders soon. Probably next week.

Good deal, thanks for the response. Keep up the good work, this is easily one of the most useful apps I have found!

I agree. I have to say that WL is one app that I am very happy that I paid for, and use it all the time!

Thanks again for your hard work on this Kevin!

Is there supposed to be a slight delay ? The original lockscreen will show up for about one to two seconds before going back to the widget locker screen. Draw issues?

The biggest issue is the 5 second rule explained here:
WidgetLocker Frequently Asked Questions | TeslaCoil Software
(Basically use WLocker Helper as your default home to avoid delays)

Other applications can slow down the launching of WidgetLocker also, and landscape-to-portrait takes a bit. But WidgetLocker activates at screen off so in normal use you shouldn't see the system keyguard, the worst is when you're testing it and hit off-on real quick.

Also WidgetLocker 1.2 does have some new system keyguard handling tricks that make it even more rare.

Hello!
Firstly, I am a bit of new on the Android, so please bear with me.
Secondly, congrats on the Widget Locker! I love the concept and believe this app. has amazing potential.

I come from windows mobile, a generally lacking platform...however, it has the most amazing lockscreen app.: S2U.
I would love for widgetlocker to develop in a way to provide all the functionaliy offered by that app.; I will patiently wait for v. 1.2 and cheer you on.

For now, I would like to signal the following things from my experience with Widget Locker:

1) I can't get landscape mode. I am assuming it has not been implemented yet...or simply I am doing something wrong.
2) I would love to have an option to deactivate the 'interactability' of the widgets I place on my lockscreen. I think that Executive Assistant handles this particular aspect very well. Perhaps you could introduce something similar.
3) I would like to disable the interactability of the top notification bar. Not really a lockscreen if I can't disable that.

thanks a lot and keep up the good work!

I haven't used it, and I don't have a Windows Mobile phone to play with, but I'll look it up and feel free to suggest features.

Actually early versions of WidgetLocker did support this but I removed it. Android does some funny things when the screen is off so it would end up switching layouts often, sometimes getting confused as to how to look, and end up inflating the memory footprint quite a bit. These problems are solvable, but there isn't too much demand for landscape and I've had lots of other things in the queue. But I do plan to get around to landscape at some point.

Coming in Version 1.2 :)

Unfortunatelly Android doesn't let third party applications do this. The best you can do is hide it, which you can do from the settings menu. Also you can enabled Require System Keyguard which will make the original system keyguard popup when you select an item out of the notifications menu. Most people hate this tough, but it does give an extra level of locking.

Hello Again,

I wanted to put forward another two suggestions.

1) Nitrodesk Touchdown integration.

I believe this feature would really set your lockscreen apart from all others currently on the market. Moreover, Nitrodesk is very open about this and have already collaborated with the developer of Pure Widgets.

2) In a future version, Widgetlocker could include the feature of notifying users for: a) missed calls, b) unread SMS and c) unread emails from both Gmail accounts AND Exchange account from Nitrodesk Touchdown.

Thereafter, a further step, would be for the Lockscreen to have a pop-up window displaying the first 3-4 lines of the SMS or Email received while the phone is locked. A feature currently present on iPhone and S2U for windows mobile.

I believe that implementing these features would make this app. a KILLER.
