Guys,

Just upgraded from the D1 to the D2, am rooted and running the Apex rom. However I can't seem to get the open-source NDIS wired tether working?

Which version works? Is there a version of this that works on the d2? Or is this an issue with the Apex rom?

thanks much for the help.

I was meaning the open source one. Id like to steer clear from the paid types. It worked on my d1 but not on this d2.

Yes, usb debuging is on. Ive also tried all the usb selector modes, and just the charge mode to be sure. After i installed it, it gave a warning saying unsupported kernel. I clicked on ignore and tried it anyway, but it didnt work.

Which is why im asking if there is one that does.

I wasn't even aware there was a free wired tether. I bought EasyTether and love it.

Why not use the free wireless tether?

Wireless Tether isn't nearly as reliable as wired.

USB tethering is secure, fast, and charges your battery while you're using it. It also doesn't generate as much heat.

Unsupported kernel... That's the first time I've heard that from someone running a Droid 2.

What system version do you have? Not the OS number. It should read something like 2.3.320.

The new Wireless Tether said I had an unsupported kernel on stock 2.3.20, which is why I went wired, which I found to be better overall.

OP why don't U ask the developer or the open source app if he/she plans on makind the app avaiable for D2? The kernal thing suggest to me d1 & d2 have different kernals.

Also, I know nothing about rom's or if the kernal can be tinkerd with when making a rom; why don't you restore to stock and see if ur app works?

Try Pda or easytether I know it cost money but those I have seen work for the droid 2.
