Verizon REALLY wants my wife to get a Droid

I wish they would stop bombarding her. We can't afford yet another $30 bill in addition to everything else. If they would let her upgrade with no data plan and let her use WiFi, that would be okay. But that's not going to happen.

My wife got one and love it. The monthly is a bear though I agree with that. Plus have a unlimited data plan. ugh!

i called them yesterday to ask about the insurance because i broke it. the rep starts telling me about the insurance and then stops and says, oh i see you are eligible for 5 phone lines, would you like to add a new phone to your account. really, i broke my phone, i dont want to add a line, if i wanted to add a line i would go to the store!!!!

Mitchb2 I was hesitant to pay $30 extra a mont as well, but I found out I got a company discount for working for HD Supply 20% off my bill and accessories so my bill remains the same. look into a company discount if you dont already get one.

I Got an Iphone for my wife.. She thought the droid was too heavy.. I am seeing much better battery life on her iphone , far lesser wifi issues.. than my droid..

We do get a corporate discount, but that would still be an extra $20+ for the data plan, right?

Does the Eris require a data plan?

Eris requires a data plan as well. Your company discount is whatever% off your bill (pre tax I believe). I got my droid, my wife got an eris, we added 2 data plans to our account. With the discount, out bill is still $10 less than it was before we had her discount. Go into the store, and have them run the numbers for you. I would bet the bulk of the data plan will be offset by your company discount.

I bet her dropped calls and 3g reception are awesssoommeeee

Ooooo, then it might be worth it. If our bill is $150 and we bring it up to $180, then the dicount is $36 (yeah I'm awesome at math). Maybe more, I can't remember if we get 20 or 25%.

Well then the next thing my wife is asking about is the $49 Droid at Wirefly. I guess I'll look into that.

Funny as I am trying to get my wife an early upgrade and can't (and I work for VZ!)... Right now she has my old BB8830... So here I am with a wife that envies the Droid and is not eligible till July. She says she'll prob switch to the iPhone :(

I just paid my bill, Im grabbing the information to post... hang on a second.
Stupid VZW, not liking FF right now.

the 20% discount is only on the primary line (plus services on the primary line) 2nd and 3rd lines would not be eligible for the discount...

Nationwide Talk & Text ($90.00 plan)
Droid + Data
Droid Eris + Data
Kids Dumbphone (No Data)
Bill runs me $190 with my wifes discount (19% - I was mistaken earlier)
