Update push confirmed!

Went to my local Verizon store tonight to purchase my 2750 extended battery and asked about gingerbread update on 6/30/11 and they confirmed that update pushing will begin on Thursday. Rep told me it is awesome and we Thunderbolt users have a lot to look forward too.

That would be awesome the only thing I wonder about is how a rep at a store would know the push date. Usually they all say the same line of bs about there's no official day set but soon and so on. If anyone could confirm with reps in there area we might get a better pic of the situation. Unless the rep is a Droid forums user I would figure there'd be more web pages blowing up about the date set and not rumor. Now that my rant is done I still think it'd be awesome if it was pushed out Thursday!!!

I hope I am correct with the info I gleaned this evening, I think I am, she did not give me that deer in the headlights look, like normal, but the more self assured yes I spoke to the CEO 5 minutes ago and am confirming to you that this will happen. It's all good with gingerbread under the thunderbolt hood.

I was told by a CSR that the update was promised by HTC for the second half of June. That would make the 30th their deadline.. I really hope it makes it out to us tomorrow and transforms this POS into the amazing device I "thought" I was getting.. they offered to replace my TB because of all the issues, but if the update brings a fix, I won't need to.

HTC controls the release date.

Verizon controls the push date.

While I appreciate you're witty response, I do not appreciate the assumption that I'm male.

That rep supposedly notated my account that if the June 30th update didn't fix the issues, that I was to receive another device. I'd say that means she's pretty confident that it will. Just thought I'd share..
