I guess that fits with all the news of a release before the end of June aka June 30. Hopefully gb fixes some of the bugs from froyo.

Please ask your buddy to clarify. How many users are involved in the soak test? These testers include additional random people who may happen to check for and install the update later today? I think the soak test may be going on but don't necessarily think it will be open to anyone who happens to check for and install the update. I also think the soak test may take longer before the update is made available to large numbers of users. Not necessarily BS but there's lots of talk about these things by reps, store managers, corporate, etc, by people that do not necessarily fully understand this process.

I hope this update fixes the reboot issues. VZW tech support didn't have a clue to help with this problem. They were trying to tell me about dl certain apps like task killer can cause the random reboots which may be true but not the case with my phone. It started after that last update. So they said either a battery pull or a master reset can fix the problem. Wrong again. A lot is riding on this gb update whenever it finally comes out.

I've had my phone for about a week and also had my first ever reboot at 7:30 am this morning... and somehow my battery drained from 99% at 1am to 60% when I woke up around 7:45 am. Hopefully this will be the one and only reboot I get.

If it is going through a soak test now I highly doubt it will be ready by this afternoon.

A soak test is usually at least 72 hours.

However, Droid X started soak testing the day before it was pushed so who knows.

Same...and that says to me that the update did serious, unfixable damage to the hardware code...I forgot the proper term for it.

Because a master reboot really should fix things that a simple update messed up.

I guess I am one of the lucky ones, because my TB so far has only had one random reboot... right after the update... then I just rooted and put gingeritis on and viola no problems since... Still would like for HTC to actually release the full on update since I am sure it can only just get better, I am honestly getting sick and tired of companies (Moto and HTC and VZW) for holding out on releasing stuff when it is needed! Oh well the wait continues!

I don't know what you guys are running. No reboots that I can remember and I have a ton of apps. The only problems I have are:

1) Ringer volume goes down (my guess is I'm hitting the volume button by accident, old problem, should have had remedies other than download from market 3p solution)

2) My phone is draining the battery ridiculously quickly. Probably an app, maybe Yahoo. If something is a service, you could be in trouble. User issue, have to find it.

The only solution, as painful as it seems, is to factory reset the phone. If you haven't done that at least once to see whether that cures your problem then you can't really complain about it and blame HTC. Stuff like this happens to every device.
