the voicemail notification wont go away 4.4.2 leak

im on the 4.4.2 leak and mje radio. i had a voicemail a few days ago and have deleted it but i cant get the notification to go away. i even get a buzz and notification sound about every hour. ive went so far as to use my root application manager and completely uninstall voicemail and visual voicemail. does anyone know a fix for this? as always, thanks for the help and have a great day.

Access your voicemail, put in your passcode. Listen to the messages if you have new ones. Important. Instead of disconnecting the call to hang-up, press the "star key" * until the message says thank you and the message service disconnects the call. The notification will be removed.

You can also change this the notification in the voicemail settings so that you no longer receive these annoying reminders. Anytime you get a reminder on your device, you will need to press the star key to disconnect the voicemail.
