You do realize he was correct, right? If you knew you were taking it back to Verizon, it really would have been a good idea to take it back to stock before. You ran the risk of him placing a mark on your account that you are rooted so they can go back on that even when you SBF back to stock.

And by the way, since you rooted and flashed a different rom you can expect to be stuck with a defective device. That is why I always tell people to sbf their phones back to stock prior to taking it back to vzw for any reason

So you would lie to cover up the fact that you knowingly voided the warranty by rooting... good plan, probably wont work, but good plan.

How exactly would you convince them you didn't know the phone was rooted? Tell them you bought it secondhand? That kind of programming doesn't just happen to the phones.

I'm personally completely rooted. And I understand that I have voided my warranty. If there was a hardware failure, I would try getting it back to unrooted. If I couldn't do that, I would suck it up. There were no misconceptions, you are warned very explicitly about what rooting does to your warranty. I haven't seen anything yet on rooting that skirts that issue.

I would tell them 1.) he's seeing stuff because I am going to SPF flash it back to 2.2, unroot it, and bring it to another Verizon store and have them look at it and "If there was a mark on my account" have him call Verizon wireless hands first and tell them there is not root or unofficial software and have them send me out a new deice (:

First off... Abe you cannot post links to sbf files on these forums, you post is subject to being deleted and you may be subject to being banned.

Next... if the tech put a mark on your account you are going to have a hard time convincing them otherwise. There are still ways to tell if you rooted, I wont say how because I'm not going to help you basically commit fraud.
