The Thunderbolt may "break" within the first few months of use?

My father today went to costco, and stopped by the Verizon place.

The man there didn't give a release date, but said that once the phones come, only BB will be selling them.
(That's beside the point)

He also said be wary of buying the phone right away, because its new, and the first LTE at verizon, so in about 3-4 months, it may break. (Not physically, but internally)

Now, I know he is just a rep, so Im not really listening to him about the BB thing, but with all the delay for reasons we aren't 100 percent sure of, what if the phone does break within 3 or 4 months?

How were other HTC phones in the first few months? The Droid Incredible? The Evo? (Wasn't that the first 4G phone phone)

Im still getting a TB though!
Thoughts?

I don't think I should be worried.

I'm pretty sure the Evo and the DInc turned out to be pretty high quality products... and if the TB DOES break in the first few months, I'm sure the warranty will cover you, and if the TB KEEPS breaking, well, VZW has been pretty good to ME when it came to poor products... i.e. offering early upgrades and the like...

You have 12 month mfg. warranty to cover you if the phone just 'breaks'. I wouldn't worry about it.

The rep is clueless anyway.

A rep from Costco told you that a phone that will only be sold at Best Buy (meaning he won't be able to sell it) told your dad that the phone will break. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

I think the previous comment puts this in perspective. I don't mind discussing rumors but this is really a reach. I'm going to close this one.
