Sears blows out the Droid for $149

just took the sears ad to the local best buy and got $54 plus change put back on my credit card...$299 - $100 rebate - $50 new for two - $75 promo from verizon - $54 from best buy....=... $20....I got my Droid for $20....this is one of the major reasons i stick with verizon...

here's a deal for $129... a friend sent it to me to through what he called "wirefly friends and family" site... make sure to change zipcode and plan to the "nation 450" with the "unlimited data" option

Welcome to our Wireless World

Can somebody comment on this Wirefly deal if they actually went through with it for $129. Don't know if there was some fine print that I am not seeing by not buying through Verizon. I am due an upgrade but they won't come down from $199. Don't know anything about these guys. Thanks!

I don't know but if this phone is $100 on Black Friday, I'm returning mine just on principal alone...

SO, the only thing I am running into trouble with is that if I select my plan (I am the main phone on a shared plan) It automatically adds two phones, I'm not wating to get one for each of us, just upgrade my hardware and pass my old phone off to my partner. I want to pull the trigger on this, but am worried that I may somehow screw up my current VZW plan.

i'm not sure on the 129 deal, but i definitely did get it from wirefly for 149 the day before i discovered this one... phone came in, contract up and working - everything legit. The only downside is that i can't just go to the verizon store for a replacement, i think you have to go through some third party thing (Simplexity?) and I'm not sure how that works... I am having mild voice digitalizations and echoes but hoping the Dec 11th patch will fix it.

Dude, do you have a receipt??? I would LOVE to print that off and take it to my local BB!

since i did deals with bb and verizon separately i dont have one receipt that shows all this...it took some quick thinking and some pretty tricky maneuvers..but i got the droid for $20...i was aiming at gettin it for free....its not over yet....

My edit button is missing but here's the text from the link above showing the prices of the phone:

I just purchased a Motorola Droid from Overstock.com for $120 with 2 year plan, free Fed Ex shipping. Here is what I understand. Correct me if I'm wrong. Looking for some help if you know of a better deal.

When you order, they don't tell you all the fees until after you have spent 10-20 mins on the phone, then they tell you the ETFees. Also, I think I was talking to somebody in India based on the accent of the clerk, who was very polite and the digital sounding nature of the call which was horrible but tolerable at times.

During the first 6 months, if I cancel the plan, change phone numbers...up to $300 penalty plus, (which goes to Overstock) and a $175 termination fee (which goes to Verizon) for the first 24 months that is fixed and does not decrease over time if I cancel the plan and the standard $35 activation fee.

Standard $39.99 with 450 mins and $29.99 data plan.

So if I keep the phone for at least 6 months, which most likely I will do, then after 6 months if I cancel for whatever reason, I will only have paid the $120 for the phone, $175 for the early termination fee and $35 activation fee for a total of $330.

My question is, did I make a costly mistake with all these penalties and such? I can always return the package if there is a better deal elsewhere. The reason I like the 1 year option is so if I decide to get a newer droid or other model in a year or so if the technology changes for the better I won't be hit with all these Early Termination Fees.

Suggestions, comments...?

I think the fees were similar to mine. The online add looks identical to Overstock.com, Wirefly.com...except they try to get you tricked to the 900 min plan. The lower priced 450 min plan is available also I believe.
