I placed rumor around it because only one source posted the story but I am curious if its so. If google bails out support for the nexus would you be disappointed and would you still see the vzw nexus the same.

Well, it is Droid Life; the same people who had information about the .902 update for the Bionic, which didn't exist.

UPDATE: I'm proven wrong as .902 does exist. Ah well.

Only logical reason I could see for this would be Google switching focus to the rumored revamped Nexus going to Sprint. Probably because Verizon doesn't like anything "developer".

Rumor justifying a rumor? Yeah I went there.

With LTE stage 2 coming soon... this "developer" phone we have may not even work on Vzw after its been unlocked with the new tracking features. This coming from my Vzw 4G network engineer source.

to droid-life's credit toro isnt here: Building for devices | Android Open Source Now how big of a story this may become is interesting. If google no longer support the nexus like a dev devices then the nexus may not get updates as fast as other nexus devices. And if that is the case then what is the point of having a developer device especially if vzw will now further be able to dictate the updates. Yes devs can do work but they need builds from google to build off of. I am interested in this story.

Stage 2? As in LTE-Advanced? Try 5-7 years...

Unless you mean voice over lte. I'm confused.

IF this is true, imagine the bloat that would come with update and locking down. The horror the horror
