just do a factory reset and only install the zip. when setting up cancel everything and hit the home screen a couple times to skip thru it will only check for data thats it.

I will give that a go tonight. I was trying that yesterday but the "set up has stopped" popup wasnt letting me. Oh well we shall see

Sent from my DROID4

So after install i noticed my phone got super slow. Transitions were extra slow, so slow even i wiped dalvik and cache and reverted back to 1.2.3b. The problem has persisted... i could do a factory reset but would like to avoid it any suggestions?

DROID 4 currently running eclipse.

sorry you got to reset it

First off all I'd like to say thanks to everybody for all the Droid 4 support, especially myfishbear and everyone who has contributed to this thread. I've had the D2, D3 and now a D4. I rooted all my previous phones but this is the first ROM I have attempted and successfully installed. I'm pretty sure this is in large part a result of a very simple installation description and a very stable ROM.

Here's my super noob question. I installed eclipse 1.2.3b 2 days ago and am now guessing its time to flash the new upgrade. I successfully oc'd, added the governor and speedscript. 1320 oc, scoring 3300 consistent on quadrant. All is well. Question one, if I open safestrap and boot into non-safe mode will my phone revert back to the exact way it was setup before this rom, or is it going to open up in standard ICS with motoblur as if I did a factory reset?

Is there any way to backup my settings as they are now (apps, general layout and whatnot), then flash the new version of this rom so that I don't have to set everything back up again. Lazy I know, but I'm definitely not complaining if that is my only option. Either way this rocks, and I'm glad the D4 has the support that it has. Am I dumb to think I can flash a ROM, reboot and have everything/most everything magically put itself back together as it was before the flash? Also, as of two days ago I had every zip file from the OP saved on my phone, which of these should be downloaded again. Sorry to be such a noob!

And btw that wallpaper pack is ridiculously sick, thanks for that too.

to upgrade boot into safestrap and just flash 1.2.4b... all thescripts have changed so i recomend my new 1320lv and reinstall speedscript as well. if it acts glitchy thean go back into safestrap do a factory reset and reinstall 1.2.4b
non safe will bring you to to your stock ics with all your old settings.

Regarding your question about making a backup, you can go into safestrap and backup your current rom which includes all apps and settings. I have a backup of 1.2.3 which I had perfectly set-up, and I can easily restore it if any of the future updates upset my phone. I'm now on 1.2.4 and after a few days of setting it up to my liking I'll make a backup of this.

Regarding what happens when you go to the non-safe side, you will be brought back to stock ICS and it will be just the way you left it prior to switching to safemode where you installed Eclipse.

Awesome, thanks guys. I appreciate everything, not a whole lot of forums help out the guy making his first post. I always read and followed but was too scared to take the jump into anything more than rooting and freezing apps in tibu. I always just wanted the wifi tether and to remove verizon and motorolla crud. This is a whole new world for me but I'm definitely impressed so far.

so 1.2.4c is working well, thanks for the wallpaper pack! I'm still scared to flash any of the OC patches, but am curious, does the speed patch work or help at all if applied without doing any OC or applying an OC patch first?
