So I am in a complicated situation. I currently have an Iphone 4 and cant stand the service anymore. I am on my parents plan, whom both have iphones, but my sister is on a verizon plan. I plan to sell my iphone and buy a droid (either x or fascinate) and sign a 1 year contract. I am nervous about doing this though because of the fact that LTE phones are supposed to be announced in january. If i buy an X or Fascinate now, and the LTE's are announced, will i be able to return the phone and use one of my sisters old crappy phones until the LTEs are released and get one at the subsidized rate? Sorry for the long post and thank you so much!!

You can return the phone with in 30 days for a 35 dollar restocking fee iirc

Droid does will probably be here shortly to give the scoop. Although if you're that worried about it, I would just wait.

Personally I'm waiting for the iphone on verizon(I'll buy depending on reviews) cause it'll take alot for me to switch from my D1 to the iphone.

If I were you I'd wait, whats the use in not waiting another month.

Wait it out, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Oh and switching from droid to iphone? Blasphemy

Jk

One question, when you go to Verizon's 4G map, when does it show your specific address getting LTE? If its anytime before the end of next year, then your decision is much harder ;-)

A final thought -- how much spam are you about to get by having your e-mail address as your forum name? Contact a mod/smod/admin immediately about having that changed for your own protection.

fbm is right, we do not recommend using your e-mail address as your username... it's asking for spam :icon_eek:

Contact me or any other smod or admin to change it please. :)

Thank you!

wont cost any extra for early termination. The money from selling the iphone will be more than enough to pay the termination fee and for most of the new phone. My parents dont pay for this stuff anyway.

So, you're expecting $400 from the sale of the phone. Considering, that might not be totally unreasonable. Used Droid 1s are going for around $200, last I knew.

AT&T's ETF policy is:

$325 minus $10 for each full month of your Service Commitment that you complete.

So do the the math and figure out how much is going to get eaten out of your iPhone sale, then compare that to the cost of adding a line, activation fees, taxes, and a new Droid.

Though I'm going to get stoned (and I mean in the biblical sense) by saying so, the iPhone is a good phone...

But it's not better than every single Droid out there, and that's what that price would indicate. :)
