Hi i am noobie with the droid but have been reading alot i am still running 2.1 awaiting 2.2 i can usb tether right now and hope to be able to when i get 2.2 over the air update ? im also wondering about fm radio and fm trasmitter supposadly built in to my droid ? thanks JD

Just an FYI here guys........I cannot confirm this as of right now through my VZW contacts.....it is a RUMOR posted by another site.....again if I get a confimation it will get posted.

True, but I feel the person who posted this is pretty reliable. 8/7 or 8/8 depending upon who's telling me.

Again keep in mind too that these dates could be a start date which means only a handful of Droids would get it on the first date. After that delivery will increase daily....

Yea it is confirmed for 8/7 2010 .............. it can still be pushed back

for what it's worth, i just hung up with a VZW service rep (i was seeing if i could wrangle an early upgrade for the X) and he said that the word coming down to them today was that 2.2 is coming out for Droids "end of July or early August". so, 8/7 would be consistent with that, and if it drops early we can all be "grateful" i guess...

I figure since I have it already anyway, why worry about it? I mean, I would love to see the ROMs that will be built from the official release. I guess us rooted users can be happy that when the official version does get released it should be working 100% perfectly.

Yeah, perfectly the way Moto/Verizon wants it to work
Probably not 'quite' as perfect as some of the devs can make it.

There is noway a VZ service rep will tell you that at all. That is a big no no within the business as calls are recorded and monitored.

There is a script that needs to be followed when questions are asked about software upgrades so I just letting you know. So this 8.07.10 release date well.....uuummm sorry but that is false as well. We will see what September bring us and hoping the weather will be fine too. :wink:

uh, don't know what to tell you dude - he said it. he talked about the info they had received "from up the ladder" that afternoon, and he even made me wait while he clicked around on his computer to double check to make sure that Droid 1 was included. now, he may have been blowin' smoke up me arse, but he said it.

what's your basis for saying the 8/7 date is false?!
