ROFL seriously?

i guess i didnt sign the same papers as you when i got my phone. i dont remember anything about being promised updates.
Would you mind posting the subsection where you found something stating there would, or would not be updates?
Do you remember them promising there would be no updates or did you remember that Android had been updated previously and updates would continue? If I'd bought a iPhone I'd know that updates most likely weren't forthcoming.
verizon isnt blocking them they are testing for bugs.
Please understand that this is your opinion, you don't know that's the reason. Other opinions state that they're holding it while they discuss removing or charging for the wi-fi hub. Others believe that they're holding it to drive up sales on other phones. None of us know for certain why we don't have Froyo when other phones do, but some of us seem ready to trash anyone who disagrees with them.

To those who are upset that someone is upset with the situation:
If you're happy with your custom ROM or just waiting, I'm not mad at ya. Why get upset with folks who don't want to wait? Really, why get mad at the customer for wanting something that's available on other phones and carriers?

again, the updates will continue and it takes time.also what does previous updates have to do with the current update? we arent owed anything and i'm just happy when they update

have you tried the early leaked froyo roms? they had quite a few bugs so thats where i am getting my opinion from. what other phones and carriers is froyo officially on? and every phone has to be programmed differently so again it takes time. i'm sure it will have the wi-fi hub so they can charge to tether (so they make more money). and why would holding back a update on the droid drive up sales for other phones? none of their phones have 2.2 on it yet.

For those to lazy to click p3droid is reporting August 7.

We should probably lock this thread then and start a whole new one, don't ya think?

This one is sort of off topic now that the 13th has come and gone.
speculating is so much more fun when it's on topic. :D

This August 7th date is the same type of rumor as July 13th. "Official" statement from a legitimate website, but there still has been no supported statement from Verizon. Why should we believe that how August 7th is the date? It's the same bs all over again.

I was on pins and needles waiting for FroYo, and I didn't want to have to root to get it.

I finally got so sick of waiting. Heart pumping like a hummingbird and hands shaking like a palsy victim, I flashed SP Recovery and installed a "stock" FroYo ROM . . .

I have no idea what I was waiting for! Now that I'm rooted, I understand people that look at threads with prospective release dates for FroYo and just shake their heads. I see no reason to ever go back to stock.

If you're still on the fence- just do it already! Research how to get your phone back to stock and how to backup in case things go wrong, but that's just for peace of mind. Trust me; you won't be going back.

:blackdroid: Give yourself to the dark side. :blackdroid:

^^ What he said! Get yourself some Simply Stunning 4.4 Froyo goodness!

p3 is the one that got everyone the froyo leaks, so he's clearly got friends on the inside.

* shrugs * I'm just relaying a message. Everyone can do with the information what they choose.

He said he was holding on to this info for a while. Gee could it be that he might have thought the July 13th date was possible and now that it didn't come out he happens to say this the day after.

I feel like people just pick a date 2-weeks to a month a way each time a date passes.
