More Froyo

[Wuzz Ranger]

I am on Froyo....all of a sudden...I have zero battery and zero signal. Keeps telling me to plug my phone in. I plug it in and the phone acts like it's not connected. I've done a battery pull, nothing will fix this....any help?

Happened to me. I did a fresh wipe and install of Froyo. Solved the problem for me.

Not ideal but it worked.

Make sure you're using a froyo kernel. The same exact thing happened to me when I loaded up a 2.1 kernel on accident.

Actually this was my issue as well. I dunno how I forgot. I had installed a P3 kernel not meant for Froyo. Make sure you have the right OC kernel for Froyo with the wi-fi fix.

Yeah, I have different kernels in my dropbox folder accidentally chose the wrong one.When I loaded it up the adventure began.:icon_eek:

Fixed that.....now I have another issue. I swear it's one after another. I have the latest Froyo....when someone calls, it doesn't ring. My display comes on with the number....and I can answer it...my phone will simply not ring. I have checked the settings and things seem to be set right....any thoughts ya'll

I have not heard or seen anything regarding this.

Is it a custom ringtone? I seem to remember skull one saying he had that problem when he set the minimum too low in the sleep/standby profile when using setcpu. Is that a possiblity?

So, when 2.2 retail hits will someone be able to make a pre-rooted rom for us to load? Also, if I want to check out retail 2.2 can I just restore my 2.1 backup from sprecovery and the update will be pushed to me?

There already are pre-rooted roms available, so I assume they will continue to be available once the 2.2 official release comes out.

Not exactly. Yes, you can restore your 2.1 backup from SPRecovery and get the update pushed to you, but you will lose root and sprecovery in the process, so you wouldn't be "checking it out" so much as semi-permanently installing it. You would have to use RSDLite to root your phone to get out of it again.

You would be better off waiting for somebody to release a plain-vanilla rooted copy of the 2.2 update and installing that, retaining SPRecovery and root access.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but the LED's hack is no longer needed. In the froyo clock app, pushing the dimmer button turns off the bottom row of LED's!
