Pretty sure turning radio off means turning off the entire 3g/4g/1X radio. This isn't talking about FM/AM.

For 3g only, I believe CDMA auto (PRL) according to an earlier post.

There is supposed to be a software update later that will allow you to turn 3G/4G on off as needed. This must be in the bundle of fixes Verizon demanded in order to release the phone. My guess is we won't see it until we get GB 2.4 with sense, hopefully before summer.

Can anyone confirm that changing to cdma auto (prl) helps with battery life in 3g only areas?

This is awesome. Thank you so much for the info for the app. I live in Detroit which has excellent 4G Coverage, but I really don't need it all the time, because I'm behind a computer at the office and at home...I may use 4G when I'm hanging out. At least this gives me an option to disable it until Verizon gives us a proper fix.

I had read that Verizon will be including an on/off feature in a software update. On a high note my market was included in the 59 that Verizon announced today for 2011 rollout. Very happy to see confirmation, now I just want it.

Is there a way to VERIFY the 4g radio is indeed turned off?

You're still able to browse the net and use the phone because when you turn LTE off, 3g is still on.
