I refuse to use task killers, ever since the last ota from verizon using froyo, the froyo build has auto task killer in it already and any task killers from the market was not needed anymore. Just sucks the life out of your battery and apps are auto killed by exiting the app now anyway.
bullswife: I think you're confused about what dawg is asking. MIUI has it's on task management, and at times it kills the MMS app, which could lead to missed texts. It's happened to me before too.
Anyone know if this is a feature of MIUI that's upcoming? Hopefully before Gingerbread, because from my experiences, the Gingerbread memory management is too aggressive for the original Droid.
Yea that was what I was getting at. I want to know if there is a way to force MIUI to keep MMS in memory at all times. MIUI is a little heavy on the memory usage side and consistently closes MMS even if I just have 1 or 2 more apps open. I have tried to use auto memory manager to force it to keep MMS in memory at all times but it automatically reverts back to its default settings. I am curious if this is contributing to the missing text issue some people have been experiencing. Does anyone know what .apk is responsible for receiving and sending text? It seems to me if MMS.apk was responsible for those functions Android would have it flagged as always alive???
