I downloaded LightBox to use rather than the stock camera app. I turned off the flash (which is easy it's right on the screen) and starting taking pics. I has great autofocus and an instafix option which does improve quality. It's free.

Another nice thing is why it's called lightbox - even if you're taking a picture in low light it shows you what your taking a picture of as if it was in bright light making it much easier to take photo's.

I don't know how to post examples - here is my listing on ebay for selling my OG Droid - I'm not putting it up to sell it to you - all of the pictures were taken using LightBox.

turned airplane mode on my phone, and threw it in the air. worst transformer ever

I replaced it with Camera Zoom FX for $4.99. Faster pics and zoom and a more professional product overall.
