Some newly leaked info from industry insiders details some of the newer features of what may be the 'sequel' to the Motorola Droid X. It's possible it is Motorola's phone codenamed, "Daytona", and it has some cool new specs. Here you are:
  • Larger 4.3" touch screen, and the screen will be denser, for improved display quality and a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels
  • Dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2 processor from NVIDIA
  • Probably Android 2.2 (Froyo), but Motorola may have plans to support Android 2.3 or 3.0 in the future.
  • DLNA streaming
  • HDMI output
  • 720p movie capture mode
  • 8MP camera designed to be snappier than the original DROID X
No clue as to whether it will be LTE capable or not, but as more details filter out we will 'keep you in the know'.

I'm really curious to see what specs the Droid 3 is going to have.

you and me, both! i've said it several times before (cross-posting alert), i'm hoping for: a bigger screen (close to 4"); T3 processor (D3/T3 has a nice ring to it, don't ya think?); ffc; LTE; and a touch/capacitive pkb (not a mechanical pkb).

my guess is that the DX2 is mainly to tide people over until LTE is more fully developed and more widely available. but since the specs are so similar to the Bionic, i'm betting that the DX2 won't be around for long (unless the Bionic just fails miserably, which i don't see happening).

If that is all they have, then I will stay on my DX and wait for something very much better, front facing camera and 4.5" screen. Mature eyes desire the bigger screen. The half inch from the Droid to Droid X made a big difference, especially using the GPS.

and a touch/capacitive pkb (not a mechanical pkb).

Screw that, the only reason I'm waiting for a d3 is to get a physical keyboard... how would this be different from the bionic and/or Dx2 without one?

no, i'm talking about a slide out, separate, physical keyboard - just not a mechanical one. instead, i want it to be like a virtual keyboard, but without the screen, like in this rendering.
