^ Not true - I'd disregard your "sources"... the OTA has already been pushed -the soak test ended on 12/12 and the "official" update, 5.5.893 began being pushed at midnight that same day.

5.5.893 does bring a few MUCH needed fixes, like a software fix for the audio screech/feedback noise when plugged into an external stereo system, and much faster stock camera (which makes it actually usable!) - among many other fixes. No new toys, but that's what ICS is going to be for... new toys to play with.

Until ICS hits the channels, the only thing that Moto is focusing on is fixing the broken beta test that is the Bionic.

FWIW, Kin3tix is as good as it gets combined with the official OTA.

I had a PERFECT phone before the OTA, but the new kernel and baseband ruined my battery life and all of a sudden I was dropping data left and right, but after flashing Kin3tix (5.8.894), my data drops have ceased altogether, and I believe that my battery life is back to where it was, but that's yet to be seen - I still need a couple days of regular use before I can make that claim.

There's no "extra-OTA" coming - the soak test was for 5.5.893, and that's what their release was.

What I said was that the soak test that was pushed out to select people was 5.5.893, and that was the update that Motorola started pushing out to the rest of the population at midnight on 12/13/2011. Everyone was supposed to receive 5.5.893 by the next few days after the soak ended.
I didn't mean that it was the last update we're going to get before ICS, I meant that the OTA that was recently released was determined to be the complete OTA; not that it was "part of a series of OTA releases", but rather that it IS the release that everyone has been waiting for.

Trust me, there are PLENTY of things left for Moto to fix before ICS comes out, which will be under a different compile date, and isn't coming out anytime in the next short while...

Yep, let it die completely.

Before it's dead, go on the market and download Battery Calibration. After your phone dies completely, charge it to 100% then run Battery Calibration (only when it's at 100%), run it completely dead - COMPLETELY DEAD, then charge it to 100% again and you'll have much greater battery life.

There are all sorts of other things you need to do to help battery life as well, but there are threads will great information on that, so I won't go into any of it here.

The method I do, is charge the battery to 100%, go into recovery, advanced, wipe battery stats, then reboot and then use your phone or let it die. then charge to 100% without interuption

ill have to do that tomorrow... if I don't make it home w some battery there's no way i can charge without interruption unless maybe on the weekend

Hey guys I am getting a low memory error and now can't download any more free apps from amazon. it shows my SD card is full (8gb) my EXT is untouched except for clockwork stuff. Is there a way to push amazon downloads to the EXT or phone? Basically how do I solve this isue? can I just move stuff from the sd-card to the sd card EXT? Thanks for the help as I battle out the last few hours of my night shift!.. SERIOUSLY just saw a guy who chewed off the tip of his pinky!!! literally he has no finger tip now!!! :blink:

So things like the camera etc will remain even when kin3tix is flashed? Also does this change the radio/kernel? And will I get the OTA for 894 when it comes out or have to reflash stock?

To the above post. You flash the rom. Then the blur. The tpax are just themes and boot animations they change icons, the drop down menus, colors etc. The tpax blur or our ( only flash one ) will either add in full blur or strip most of it out. do not flash both of these and flash tpax on a separate recovery. When flashing tpax wipe data and cache only

I am using FULL BLUR ADD-ON -> IC3BR3AD and the gallery widget refuses to show show any Facebook activity. It always shows "No recent activity". I know Blur Facebook is working because all of me contacts are synced up with their Facebook photos. Furthermore, I can click the widget, click friends and see the Facebook albums. Any ideas? Thanks.
