Is there any way to remove or disable Verizon's Backup Assistant?

Is there any way to remove or disable Verizon's Backup Assistant?

I don't see any reason for it when you are using an Exchange server. In fact, I can imagine it just getting all messy when you have your detailed contacts from Exchange blending with the backed up contacts from Verizon's servers.

I tried to search this on the forum because someone must have asked but "backup" brings up hundreds of hits.

Removing Backup Assistant

I have an LG Extravert and was told by Verizon Wireless Customer Service how to stop Backup Assistant:

Go into Media Center.
Access Apps.
Go into Backup Assistant.
Select Options.
Select Help.
Hold down the camera button for at least 5 seconds. The screen will offer many options not seen before.
Select disable Backup Assistant. That should turn it off.
