Backup Assistant

When I got the droid, I created a gmail account and exported my outlook contacts to the gmail account. I then synced with the droid. Now I would like to use the backup assistant at Verizon. When I first logged into backup assistant, it indicated that I had 13 contacts. After I hit sync, I had zero. What happened? Thank you.

Let gmail backup your contacts

Backup Assistant can be troublesome. If it's not sync'd properly, it can wipe out contacts rather than save them. Rely on your gmail to save your contacts and forget Verizon's faulty attempt at a backup service.

I totally agree, I saw backup assistant on my D2 and I wondered what in the world that was doing there. I'm relying on gmail.
