Just came back from Best Buy and they said it was coming out on the 24th. He said it was supposed to come out on the 14th but it was pushed back to the 24th. The price is 249.99 like we already heard. I saw some cases and screen protectors in stock already. This is in South Jersey.

same from the North Jersey store...

I bet Best Buy and Verizon customer service departments have never gotten so many calls from people asking about the same phone, daily, especially one that is not even released yet.

I will go to the BB I pre-ordered at if I can get it on Monday, great, if its not out by the 24th, I will just get my funds back on the stupid GC I had to purchase as part of my pre-order, either way its coming out.

As for the other phone causing issues, I have read, and seen video clips clearly showing that it has NOT been a big rush at Verizon or Apple stores on launch day. Did anyone see the video at the Apple Store at the Mall of America on launch day, 1 person, yes 1 person was waiting, woo hoo.

They also said not many people pre-ordered. How about in that store?

Yeah, there was a lot of talk in the news and blogs about how launch day sales were not nearly as high as expected. However, it's better to be over-prepared rather than have people waiting in line for hours and getting upset. Some stores obviously did better than others, fair sized lines and waits at some, way too many employees at others. The most important thing to remember, though, is that pre-order iPhone sales were through the roof, breaking records in fact. They crashed the Verizon site in like 2 hours or something like that, causing them to stop taking pre-orders. So it seems that a majority of people getting the iPhone pre-ordered it for fear of it selling out on the first day. I also think some iPhone fans are hesitantly (and wisely) waiting to hear news on the potential of an iPhone5 release this summer (or whether it won't be until fall or even early next year on Verizon).

Still waiting for some more information the video calling through skype.

Anyone?

I doubt anybody is going to be able to give you a valid answer on that quite yet, it's too soon to tell. You might have to wait until launch day to find that one out. My guess would be that you can talk to anyone who has Skype on their phone or computer. I think that would suck if you could only talk to other people with Thunderbolts or LTE sticks for the PCs. That would definitely limit the functionality of the feature a great deal, so you are right to have concerns.

I posted damn near the same thing elsewhere...almost word for word.

I got bored so I called 4 BB stores within 20 minutes of me.
I got 3 different answers.
2 of them (the closest two) said the 24th.
1 said the 14th still but they've heard rumblings of a delay
1 said the 21st or later, but it might get pushed back again.

All of them said I could still pre-order the phone...

I still say that it could be the 14th or 17th at SOME Best Buys, those that already have them in stock and are willing to start selling them early (either against VZW's wishes, or because they have not been informed of any delay), UNLESS Verizon makes Best Buy corporate change that advertisement we saw (ie. make them add "coming soon" or "pre-order" language to indicate that it is still not available for sale until the 24th). The interesting thing to see will be if they do sell it at all anytime this week, will they be able to actually activate the phone in the system that day, or will it have to wait until Verizon gives the ok?

The BB in my neighborhood said its being held up by the FCC. Problem with the phone.

Didn't we get confirmation like a week ago that it was through the FCC?

Yes. The person you talked to is just plain wrong. The phone is ready to go on sale whenever VZW is ready. The TB already passed through the FCC with approval. Maybe he saw something on the Incredible 2 and is confused, or is just reading inaccurate rumors. There is no truth to that at all. The only potential problem with the phone would be the functionality of the mobile hotspot feature or Skype. Those will likely work on launch day (blackmanx said the problems were fixed), but even if not, a simple patch update will take care of that a week or two later.
