@black_man_x
Choose to go back to work today.. so its done.. its coming and u can thank me later.. time to get the final push on these sign offs..

Someone asked about swype way back, I don't think it'll come preloaded, but I will put swype on mine, I signed up for the beta way back in December, I dunno if you can sign up and download the beta now, but probably not sadly.... I have the .apk for swype installer, should work on any Android phone, but I have no way of sharing it with the world, maybe Google it, someone else is bound to have it.

14th guys, I dunno what you're arguing about...... Although BestBuy will definitely have the tb on Monday, vzw stores might not. But why buy from a Verizon store, as stated earlier bestbuy has the buyback program free right now, and of you are using a two year or buying at full price without a new every two discount, bestbuy is the place to get it.

I thought someone said the TB comes withs swype installed already. I could be wrong though..

unfortunately you cant use the installer on another phone, the beta registers your device and your device only.. i tried :laugh:

it will install the installer just not swype itself.. i hope it does end up having it or i am going to be a sad panda

I pre-ordered mine at best buy today and the manager insisted that she was getting them on the 14th. I told that there were some articles online that said otherwise. She wasn't having it, not that it means anything coming from her, just my experience. They do honor your NE2 upgrade and they can even get verizon to move your NE2 up 7 days early if you like. I can't get the phone til the 21st of the month so I'm hoping it comes out like the 20th.

Word on the street is it's faster than that dual-core Motocrap Droid Bionic....

We don't know about battery since it hasn't come out yet.

Haha yeah the TB is gonna be everywhere, thing is I'll probably be the only person to get it in my city, since we don't even have LTE and probably won't get it for a year or so.

eh, as much as i would like the above to be true lets not forget the bionic on display at CES was only using 1 core of 2.. to me that may be that comparing core to core the thunderbolt is better but 2 is always better than one.. i just dont care to wait for a dual core with less ram than a single core and coming from OG Droid helps to.. lol

Eh, Know much about computers? Dual cores only have the advantage if the programs can run multi-threaded. If not then a single core with a higher clock speed will have the advantage.

No sarcasm here, but are you saying with both cores activated the bionic wont run faster/smoother than we saw (maybe not you) at the CES event?

keep in mind most people dont get a high end phones to just take pictures and txt message so im not sure i get your point.

Which phone is clocked higher than the other i thought they were both 1.0 ghz? i was pointing out that the TB is still faster imo but you cant tell me when you are multi-tasking its going to stay as smooth as the bionic.. or is that exactly what you are trying to tell me?

clarify for me what you consider an advantage, i dont think the fastest processor has the best advantage i think the smoothest most battery conservative has the best advantage imo..

if i had the choice of something that ran 2x speed but half the battery i would choose the alternative as long as any apps i go through remain smooth and dont bog the phone up.

if your first phone was a DX or a D2 you prob dont have this problem but even with my droid OC'd at 1.2 thing slows down after a while.. i have had is since release day Nov 23, 2009 lol

Dunno if this has been mentioned yet. I went into the Local Verizon store here and asked about an early upgrade and if i could use it at Best Buy since they say they're getting the phone early. He told me Best Buy IS NOT getting the Thunderbolt before Verizon Corporate stores. Best Buy is the only 3RD PARTY retailer that will be selling the Thunderbolt at first. Verizon Corporate stores ARE NOT 3rd party. they'll have it the SAME DAY as Best Buy. Dunno what day that is, but it won't be different.

@black_man_x The Mobile Panda
I will say this.. rather delay a NEVER annouced launch date then launch a half baked product that doesn't meet consumer expectations.. So that confirms he is talking about the tb

Dual core does not mean twice the speed. But it can mean twice the processing power. Example:

You're running two apps at the same time. On a 1GHz single core processor, the 1GHz has to be shared between each app. However, on a 1GHz dual core processor, each app gets a full 1GHz.

In regards to running a single app, most apps right now are only coded to use a single thread (process), so even with a 1Ghz dual core, the app can only use one of the cpus and it would be the same as a 1GHz single core. However, if it's coded to be multi threaded then each thread can use a process, and the app will be able to use both 1GHz cpus at the same time, for a total of 2GHz of processing power.

Yeah why would BestBuy have em but not Verizon stores?.... Common Sense guys..............

I heard somewhere that the next gen SnapDragon in the TB was better than the Tegra 2 or whatever in the Bionic, I dunno, does it really matter? As long as it can run Android for years to come I don't care lol

And yes, Gingerbread works just fine on the Incredible and like devices, I don't see Android requirements going higher than 1Ghz for a while.
