@black_man_x the mobile panda
i will say this.. Rather delay a never annouced launch date then launch a half baked product that doesn't meet consumer expectations.. So that confirms he is talking about the tb

Eh, Know much about computers? Dual cores only have the advantage if the programs can run multi-threaded. If not then a single core with a higher clock speed will have the advantage.
No sarcasm here, but are you saying with both cores activated the bionic wont run faster/smoother than we saw (maybe not you) at the CES event?
keep in mind most people dont get a high end phones to just take pictures and txt message so im not sure i get your point.
Which phone is clocked higher than the other i thought they were both 1.0 ghz? i was pointing out that the TB is still faster imo but you cant tell me when you are multi-tasking its going to stay as smooth as the bionic.. or is that exactly what you are trying to tell me?
clarify for me what you consider an advantage, i dont think the fastest processor has the best advantage i think the smoothest most battery conservative has the best advantage imo..
if i had the choice of something that ran 2x speed but half the battery i would choose the alternative as long as any apps i go through remain smooth and dont bog the phone up.
Dual core does not mean twice the speed. But it can mean twice the processing power. Example:
You're running two apps at the same time. On a 1GHz single core processor, the 1GHz has to be shared between each app. However, on a 1GHz dual core processor, each app gets a full 1GHz.
In regards to running a single app, most apps right now are only coded to use a single thread (process), so even with a 1Ghz dual core, the app can only use one of the cpus and it would be the same as a 1GHz single core. However, if it's coded to be multi threaded then each thread can use a process, and the app will be able to use both 1GHz cpus at the same time, for a total of 2GHz of processing power.
Well, this is kind of on topic. Do you guys know of a good case cover I could buy for this phone so that I will already have it when I get mine this month? I really don't want to pay $30+ for a case from BestBuy.
My understanding was that Skype was going to be "baked in" to the OS, so you shouldn't even need the app, right? Should we care about the app release date?

exactly right; I don't understand whats' so hard to comprehend here: releasing the TB within the iphone 14-day return window provides no value whatever to VZW or to Apple. for all we know Apple is calling the shots here, under contract: Remember this is a company with a very active legal team that tries to patent user experiences. This is company that tried to patent the whole mouse UI concept that they didn't even invent (it came from Xerox). This is a company that tried to patent the telephone keypad. This is a company that refuses to support flash because they didn't invent it and can't control it. I can't imagine Apple not preventing people from returning their shiny new 3G iphone for a 4G android. Moreover, the 4G iphone will appear well before those 2-year contracts expire, so there is loads of cash to be made on those upgrades as well.I've been saying 14 days after iPhone since the iPhone was announced.
Well, here again I see no advantage for VZW to do this. but this is an interesting twist -- what is your reasoning here?I also said that VZW might bundle free hotspot with the TB a la Palm..rumor sites get paid by number of hits, not by the factual accuracy of their content...Nothing against Miami, but his "insider info" is a lot of "well maybe this"... I personally don't think he has any info. He just randomly generates this stuff, like with the Merge.

you know what I think?
I think BB will have it on the 14th. I think VZW isnt going to get it then because of this reason:
When I preordered the iPhone(mistake) online it only gave me an option for a 2 year agreement. I got to work that morning and promptly cancelled my order because there was absolutely no way to get a 1 year contract.
With that said, VZW is soaking up its new-comer and uninformed consumer with a 2 year phone agreement in which they will not be able to upgrade their contract after 14 days of sale or 13 months of contract anymore...due to the changes in their return policy and their change to their NE2 stuff.
So in short, VZW played a "check" on us consumers. They made it so the iPhone hungry, trendy folks can pad verizons wallet and buy as much as ever. Remember that within the first 2 hours of Pre-Sale, the iPhone sold more units than any phone ever in VZW's history.
Also I think its important to note that what VZW is also doing is saying the first 4G device is the Thunderbolt...but they dont want the "non covered LTE" consumer to purchase because they dont have a way to universally charge those customers at the launch of a national LTE phone. Its not like they can make me pay for a service and not be able to utilize it. So what is being said...under the covers is that if you get a 3g/4g device and are on a 29.99 unlimited contract for said phone, you are grandfathered.
where will VZW make their money? iPhone boners...this is why...
In a few months...the iPhone 5 will be LTE released and the masses will then want that phone...people will jump on it paying full retail and whatever contract (tiered data plans or whatever) they need to in order to fulfill their trendy hunger...the iPhone customers are VZW's cash cow just like those customers were for ATT.
We as an informed public have a chance to play a "check" on VZW...if we snatch up these TB's and are on a UNLIMITED 3G/4G data plan and only paying 29.99 a month....we are grandfathered...for unlimited LTE data...forever...unless we change our contracts...we will be the better off consumer because of this...for those of us who do the research and ask the questions over and over will be happier when those birds are paying crazy tiered data packages and we are getting that service on the cheap...we however will not.
I remember when I was on the SERO plan for Sprint...I was getting everything and more for literally $30 per phone that a top dollar ($90) phone plan consisted of...
Trust me when I say..VZW probably doesnt want us to jump on that bandwagon...and they probably want us to wait for the Bionic or a dual processor phone...
I for one have no prob getting this stellar phone with a locked in 2 year agreement with unlimited 3g/4g data...plus with BB's buy back program offered free you essentially can get a phone within 6 months for like $350 cash without doing anything to your contract...I almost paid $360 for an iPhone 4 on a 2 year contract...what a bone head move that could have been.

Your theory is plausible, but iPhone 5 will not have LTE. Its not fully rolled out yet, its too new for Apple to get the power mgt under control and AT&T hasn't got any out the door. The iPhone 5 on Verizon has a GSM Chipset in there already, what would be nice is a Global iPhone 5 but Apple is rotten to the core so don't expect that.
