How's your battery life?

I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, but for those lucky enough to have received it, what's it been like?

There are a few complaints, but that seems to come from extremely heavy users only (I know, subjective). From the majority of reviews and user comments I've read, battery life will easily get you through the day. Of course, this all depends on what a person considers "normal" usage, which can vary widely.

Screenshots would be nice, btw.

Yes, this is why I always strongly encourage people two include TWO things when they give battery life: total time on battery AND "screen on" time. The first part will vary widely depending on the second. My first gen Moto X will last anywhere from 5 hours to 36 hours - depending entirely on the amount of "screen on" time.

I don't have any exact numbers to post, but I can say that this phone definitely lasts me an entire day and then some. Compared to my previous phone (sony xperia z1s), this guy is a lot more efficient during idle times. I'm using the apps as I did on my old phone, but my old phone seemed like it drained faster when in standby.
Anyway, from my memory I have no trouble getting 15 to 16 hours of usage with 2 to 3 hours of screen time.

WOW! That's impressive to say the least. Over 17 hours of battery time and still not at 15%, and almost 8 of those (7 3/4), is actual screen on time!

Hope my Turbo can compete.

How the heck did you get that much screen time? My s4 couldn't even dream of hitting that number.

I was pushing for 8 hours but it was almost midnight and I was ready for bed. (It would have made it though)

I'm tellin ya this S5 is a beast in the battery department. That day I streamed a four hour podcast, a few hours of TuneIn, Pandora & Slacker, multiple phones calls & texts, YouTube and a LOT of forum posts. This thing just doesn't quit. Obviously I died before the battery did. lol

I didn't think there was a significant difference between the s4 and s5, just the improvement in battery life alone is well worth the upgrade.

You're running stock correct?

Yep, rooted stock. Not even using a third party launcher, simply cleaned up stock TW to the way I want it.
We have a couple folks on our S5 sister forum who upgraded from the S4 & they claim the S5 is a significant improvement in every way over that device. I didn't think it was that much better, (just by comparing specs) but it does blow my S3 out of the water.

Yeah by paper I wouldn't say the s5 blows the s4 out the water, but from what you just posted, yes it does.

My battery life has been similar to my first gen Moto X. It lasted much longer yesterday, but I didn't use it much. The GPS useage today drained it quite a bit.

I forgot to plug in the other night, so I decided to let it keep going. The phone's not a battery champ, but I'm not in need of one. I plug in every night anyhow. It does seem to charge rather quickly though.
