Hello to all. Been a lurker for a few months (since I got my Droid 1), but figured I'd make it official today.
I just rooted my phone with EasyRoot (couldn't have been easier), and now I'm looking to install a new ROM and maybe overclock my phone. I know everyone has their own preferences, but there has to be some general consensus to the following questions:
1) What is the cleanest, fastest ROM available? Stock or custom.
2) What is considered the most stable overclocking speed? 800mhz? Faster?
Currently I'm using the FRG01B update that was posted last week (Kernel v2.6.32.9-g103d848 android-build@apa26 #1) and it just feels slower than it should. Plus, even when I'm connected to wi-fi my signal meter is bottomed out even when my speed is amazing. I think this is a known issue, and it doesn't seem to affect my wi-fi performance, but it's annoying.
