Is there anyway to turn of the censorship when you use the voice feature on the phone, I tried sending a sms, albeit not a very nice one lol, anyways, every curse I said was replaced with #### on the phone..

Edited: I guess its not google voice, but just when using the voice command prompt.

I was going to say, I've said a nasty word here and there using Google Voice. I guess it's voice sensitive. :)

Now Im thinking its better keyboard thats doing the censoring, as the 'options' if suggestions after you speak are listed by BK..

Voice transcription on the Droid (and possibly on Gvoice messages, I forget) is by default set to screen profanity. The reason is that it often gets words wrong and you wouldn't want "That's enough, uck!" to be sent in an email as "That's a cow I'd ####!".

I recall reading you can turn the profanity back on if you want, can't be bothered to find it right now :)

Actually, I don't believe there is a way to turn it on. It is filtered and Google's position is that they'll leave it that way.

The 2.1 Keyboard Voice Input does this as well. Its starting to roll out on any Google app that has any Voice Input feature.

I love this forum. Just today, I was using voice input to build my shopping list in My Groceries, and one of the items came up as #### (unfortunately, I can't recall which item it was, just know that I would up typing it instead) and I had NO idea why. Now I do.

Settings -> Voice Input & Output -> Voice Recognizer Settings -> Uncheck Block Offensive Words.

Thanks for this, I thought I read it didn't block offensive words, and I was a bit disappointed when it gave me the ####

My pleasure, but to be honest, I would leave it on. I had it off for a day and finally gave up after offending virtually everyone that I text via voice!:icon_eek:

I was just trying to show how good it worked and how it doesn't censor...and then it did #### .......still the fanboys are jealous :p

With this censorship of four letter words, I can imagine my ex-wife's messages having a billion #############dancedroiddancedroid
