Google Earth GONE from the store...?

OK this is a shot in the dark but worth a shot. I'm offline on my Droid right now so maybe somebody can try this.

Drop the update.zip back on the root of the SD card unmount and then do a market search.

Can someone give it a shot?

Just poking my head in the thread. I downloaded Google Earth about three hours ago with no issue. Using ESE81, plus some my own touches. Manually updated, of course.

I just searched:

Just received my replacement Droid...did manual 2.1 update and this time I CAN see Google Earth in the MP...something odd going on for sure!

INTERESTING! My Firmware version says 2.1-update1 (like many people have posted about)...

Yours is the first Droid I have seen with a Firmware version of simply "2.1"

hmmmm....

Did you manually update to 2.1, or did you receive an OTA update?

Don't mind what that says. I installed the rooted ESE81, and Pete had modified the build.prop file, for whatever reason. That controls the display info. Its the same as what the OTA is, other than being hacked to allow root, and using my own custom kernel. Neither which would make a difference to the market.

Ah.... I didn't realize you used Pete's rooted 2.1 build.

Can't imagine the market scans your sd card's contents to filter search results. But worth a shot. I however, can't do it since I have access to it already.

I guess I could run the stock OTA and see what happens....I won't lie though, I really don't want to.

Do you guys really want me to test it?

I think it is something with the store not reading the version properly...I did a manual update on my one phone and could not find Google Earth in the MP, just manually updated my replacement phone with the same update file and was able to find Google Earth within the MP...sorry messed up on their end I think.
