Droid Price Cuts

It will be a new account, so we need to set up the discount - I know it's just for the service, not the phone itself. I know phone price is the same as on the verizon site, but I've seen it for as low as $119 on other sites and I was wondering if they'd match those prices. Thanks for letting me know they won't.
You won't get a store to match the current Wirefly deal. $69.99 after $50 Bing Cashback (LINK) plus free activation and no sales tax through 12/31.

The $119.99 price is instant (no rebates) and the $50 Bing cashback comes automatically from Microsoft if you have a registered Bing cashback email address (which BTW if you don't you should -- it's free). If you are eligible for a corporate or Verizon employee discount, you can call Verizon to apply that to the account after the phone is activated. If you are upgrading, your current discount will be applied automatically by Verizon after the phone is activated on your account.

All these deals can get confusing...... OK here is my status...

Jan 09 I got two new phones for my family plan and signed for a two year contract.

Can I get the firefly deal at $69.99 and if so I am assuming a new two year contract will go into effect immediately.... Am I correct???

Just a quick note, if you go to wireflyfriends.com instead of wirefly.com the prices are even better.

costco has the droid primary line new activation for 149.99 plus free activation a $25 bill credit and free car charger.

So all I get from he wirefly (both) sites is that they want me to add a phone to my contract to get their $119 price........
so I will have an extra phone to pay each month and it won't be my primary line with verizon .. BLEGH!!

Sounds like you clicked on Add-a-Line instead of RENEW/UPGRADE. You don't have to add a line. Make sure to start with Bing search to get your $50 cash back per phone.

Thanks for posting the cheaper price from dell. I will be going to BB tonight to get my droid as my contract is up today for an upgrade. I have $100 in gift cards to BB so mine will cost me $20.00 + tax if they honor the dell ad. :)

BB offers free activation? Also, my wifes phone is primary on the account, I will need to tell them to activate the 2nd line, correct?

Will post with my results.

It always happens that over time, technology and items associated with it come down in price. Its OK that this happens. That being said....I would buy the Moto Droid again if it cost me $500 because I love what it is and what it does...Besides, being a business owner its considered to be a tax deduction. Droid Rules!!!

Certain items dramatically lose their value when used. Cars, electronics (including cell phones), food, virgins...

didn't click on the wrong thing, I CALLED. Of course I got a guy whose first language wasn't English.... but he made it clear that I wasn't going to start new with them I couldn't upgrade but he would let me add a line and get that price.....

NO thanks, that is another $120 a year on a two year contract, makes the phone $240 bucks more in the long run......

Went to 3 verizon stores today, 2 told me to go away and come back in Sept 10. The third one said I could have the phone for $369 with $100 rebate and a new two year contract on that phone. I am toying with that idea now, unless I can find anything better.......

Sounds like you got a trainee or overflow center or something. 1) you can't get the $50 per phone Bing cashback for phone orders. 2) If you start here you'll see the page with the Droid at $119.99 plus $50 per phone from Bing. Click on RENEW/UPGRADE, select your plan, and you can upgrade your lines. You have to select from one of the currently-available Droid plans, and you have to be eligible for an upgrade with Verizon. Free activation ends Thursday.

$50 bing rebate

can anyone verify that they received this $50 when choosing a service plan under $99.....the wording on the link seems to read that you would get it say with the $39 service plan ( that's the one for me) but its wording is very confusing..I don't really know...when I called about it the person said the plan had to be minimum $99................any body know for sure?

Bought my Droid last night at BBY. They price matched the Dell online offer for $119.99. They took another $50.00 off that price since I was up for a new phone w/ 2 year contract extension. My wife got the Droid Eris as well. I had $100.00 gift card to BBY, so they Droid and Eris cost me $28.00 out of pocket... not too shabby.

At BestBuy????

At Best Buy? The Dell price? :icon_ banana::icon_ banana:

I have received an email and snail mail flyer offering me an early upgrade discount, valid until 1/31/10... I haven't called Verizon on it, but maybe this is the deal they are offering.

The soonest my 2-yr will let me upgrade is April 2010 (2 yr contract ends is Aug 2010).
