Isn't that crazy?? They ALMOST have the same exact specs....yet one is NOTICEABLY more powerful than the other....
No, they don't have anywhere near the same specs. The only number that is similar is the CPU- and by similar I mean the way a 3ghz i7 cpu is similar to a 3ghz Pentium 4.
The eris doesn't even have a gpu.

Stop fighting because you all sound retarded. They are both good smartphones, but in all regard, the Eris hasn't been rooted yet so we have no idea the potential it may have. How many serious droid users are still using the vanilla android install? probably a small amount if i were to guess.

PS. Stop being idiots.

read the rumors and posts earlier today and thought that some updates were happening..but since getting home and checking all the different forums it looks like some people where just messing with us about the updates today...on android forums someone posted a pic of the update with the 2.1 info and 5 or so posts later he said it was a joke...i personally feel that most of this type posts are photoshop or something similar....the video could be a test phone and possible true but i think the rest is bullsh#t...we know the update is on the way but we are left once again waiting and waiting and.......WAITING  someone said patience is a virtue.....WHATEVER !!!!

Well said - waiting for updates has been part of computer and smartphone life from the beginning... why be so snarky? This is a really good forum -why not try to keep it on topic and civil!

Thanks for proving my point! :)

And for those upset with the "argument" note a couple of things. 1st, I am not on the MotoDroid forum bashing it. Second, I never said the Eris was BETTER, just that I liked it better, and it was better for my needs. Third, I tried both. And chose the Eris for a variety of factors, but mostly because I got two (one for me and one for my wife) for $50. I then took her to Ruth Chris' with part of the $300 I saved by going with the Eris.

Too each their own, but I am not a fan of the MotoDroid. I have no use for a slide out keyboard, I don't care about .5" of screen size, and I certainly don't like how brick-like the MotoDroid is. If performance becomes an issue on the Eris I will get the Nexus One.
Regardless, I can't wait for the 2.1 upgrade! :icon_ banana:

And the Consumers are kids with no life or laptop. Motorola knows this and those are the ones whining and bickering.

Well, that was some interesting reading! Thanks for the break from organizing tax information!
Now, I must go break up fights from between my CHILDREN! *ahem*

Oh wait, I'd like to inject that I love my Eris. I had/have no desire for the Moto Droid because it seemed awkward in my hand. That's all. My Eris is SOOOOOO much better than the BlackBerry that I did have, or even the Omnia which I loved for about a year.

(Now if only I could find something that will sync with OneNote! lol! Yes, still searching! I have come closer to an answer though!)
Good Night all! Going to watch Desperate Housewives! ha ha ha!
