Destroyed Droid

ebay and craigslist, that would be your best shot.

I am an insurance agent and insurance is a rip off when it comes to insuring phones. (unless you are prone to accidents or married to wife1.0)

@$5 a month + $80 deductible is pretty steep. If I paid for insurance for the last 6 years @ verizon it would have been thats an extra $360 plus deductible. I have never had an issue.

I have another question.. As I'm looking at verizonwireless.com it shows that my account is on the Nationwide Talk Family SharePlan 1400 which lists its monthly price at $80/month. However, if I click to "Change Plan" on the verizon website, it lists the same plan that I currently have.. but at $89.99. Did they recently up the cost? If I stay with verizon, will I have to pay $89.99 to continue once my contract is up or is my price grandfathered (assuming I stay with this plan in the future). Wirefly, similarly, shows $89.99 for the Nationwide Talk Family SharePlan 1400 2yr contract extension. Thanks for helping me sort out the details

edit: sorry for going off this threads topic lol

wirefly is having a sale atm.. says its offering droid for free for new and existing verizon customers! gotta check about the monthly $80 vs $89.99. i think im grandfathered right now but i dont know how it works if i extend my contract through wirefly. im so stoked. i hope droid xtreme (or droid 2 w/e u want to call it) doesn't blow this phone out of the water lol

edit: wth.. they said they can only give me the offer if im upgrading my primary and not my secondary. if i want to do only my secondary (which is my phone) its gonna cost $99. if i upgrade my primary AND secondary, theyre both free? I can upgrade all 4 of my phones and get all 4 for free but then I'd have to have $30/mo. data plans for all of them. Does this make sense to you guys? Is there a way I can just switch my phone to be the primary so I can get the deal without affecting my siblings phones?

1. You obviously have a phone that you enjoy that VERIZON released. You keep your service because its obviously sufficient enough for you.
2. As employees, I'm afraid you've been misinformed. We actually pay FULL RETAIL PRICE for our phones. Yeah that's right, 700 bones.
3. There's a reason we can claim to be the #1 largest and most reliable network. Cuzz we are. Ill show you the map.
4. There's a lot of Verizon reps on this site that really take pride in their job. Respect that. Just because you had bad luck with a couple people on the phone, doesn't mean anything. I go above and beyond my job requirement to inssure my customers are happy. In fact last night I was at a customers house teaching him Droid tricks. Off the clock. Not required. I'm def. Not a psycho enthusiast for Verizon, I just take my job seriously.
Don't worry, I forgive you. And if you ever have any future issues that you need help getting resolved, pm or email me and ill make sure it gets taken care of.

four weeks ago my Droid's life (actually, my second Droid) was abruptly ended as 40+ vehicles mercifully ran over and over it.

i had purchased the Droid through Best Buy, as i have always done, and purchased their Black Tie Program.

not thinking they would exchange it for such a reason, Best Buy said that the reason was no problem.

So i gave them $150, for a deposit on a loaner phone, waited 2 weeks to see if the phone was fixable, and received a BRAND NEW Droid. They pulled the phone off the rack and activated it.

Got my $150 back. dancedroid

@mrgoochio The Droid2 specs and pics have been floating over the blogs today. It has 8 gig native memory, and an 8 gig SD (so you still get your 16 gig) and they removed the D-pad to make more room for the keyboard. Processor comes clocked @ 750 instead of 550. And Motofail UI. If it's easily rootable like the Droid, it could be a decent handset. If it's the PITA the Milestone is to root, it's an extremely underwhelming followup to the flagship. My droid can run at 1.2 ghz all day long. And its running Froyo, which IS nice. ATM, the Droid is the best bang for the $ any way you look at it.

I actually just had my current phone switched to the primary as of 2 minutes ago so I can take advantage of wirefly's deal on the droid atm. If all goes well, I'll have a droid on the way for free in the next 2 minutes. Wish me luck!

Placed my order with wirefly after changing my phone to primary.. had to call verizon, switch my phone from secondary to primary, call wirefly and place order to upgrade and extend my contract for 2 years, and process my order for the moto droid.

If all goes well with the processing and shipping, ill have my droid soon and have verizon activate it. glad i waited a day or two since i got everything for free now :D
