Anyone seeing the .604 OTA update yet?

Ah, ok, nevermind. I got the BIG update and it allowed me to update the My Verizon app immediatly after. Hope this update helps. Love the phone so far.

Hey, I'm very new to this, I mean like never had a smart phone ever new, but when I try to install the new "My Verizon" app at the app store it keeps saying unsuccessful. I then click on it and it says "installation error, package file was not signed correctly." Anyone have any info on this, or tell me what I may be doing wrong? THanks for any help.

I had that exact problem until I updated this latest software. Then I tried again and it installed fine. If you haven't updated, go to Settings -> About phone -> System Updates.

Hey thanks a lot! Sorry about the double post but I hadn't saw your message til I made mine. Yeah, I finally figured out how to do the manual update (I was afraid to ask how, noob complex and all, lol) so when I found I had the big update I went ahead and did the My Verizon update and it worked like a charm. Now just gotta check it out. Thanks again for the info.

Could just be me but I've noticed (or seemed to) better font rendering in the browser.

Could be a placebo effect, but it sure seems that way to me as well.

So Do I Have to Install Two Updates?

So i get my X tomorrow (finally!) and i read that there was an earlier update that came out like a day or two before the phone even launched and then this new update pushed out today.

So will I have to install both updates to my X or will the X just tell me which one to install?

Wow, i've never seen an update come out so fast after launch, this is so awesome and shows how much love VZW and Moto is giving this phone.

When i got the crappy original storm, i swear they didn't give us a real update until like 6 months later and the phone still sucked.

Tested the volume ( appeared to be the same)
Tested the camera ( snapped one photo, tried snapping another, phone rebooted while pressing camera button)
WTF
After reboot,
Tested the camera again ( snapped multiple photos, no reboot)
Checked news widget ( didn't appear different)

Then, Just out of curiosity i checked Volume again
and HOLY SH*T!!!!!!!
it's DEF DEF DEF LOUDER

This phone has officially made me _____ BUCKETS!

I think it is better... when I switched from the Droid Incredible to the Droid X, I immediately noticed how the very small fonts in the browser looked really ugly on the X. Like the letters would be inconsistently spaced and not nicely anti-aliased or hinted or something. Definitely doesn't seem to do that anymore.

I think the lock screen is a bit snappier too, but I didn't really pay close attention to it before so I'm not sure.

Dont say that about the volume!! I'm trying to hold out updating for possible root....

ppl saying the phone has gotten snappier, faster, unlock isnt lagging anymore....texts is sharper, camera faster....battery % might be fixed...

I cant stand it....lol

There is a battery % bug hitting some ppl. This update may or may not fix it. Normally rebooting the phone or removing the battery will show actual % left.

Maybe the battery needs to be cycled a few times before it gets it right. I dont know.

Just did the update. My observations are as follows...

Ringer volume seems no louder to me.

Unlocking still causes a bit of lagginess (same as before).

Haven't checked anything else yet (need to get to bed). I'm not complaining, though. I love my X. Absolutely LOVE it and I'm sure the issues I have (can't turn the ringer loud enough and the lagginess on the unlock screen) will get sorted at some point.

LOL, do you mean that you actually swallowed your updated (but active medical ingredient-less) droid x and now you feel all tingly or were you just having some good ol' medical term misapplication fun?

Hi,

My Droid X amd my husbands updated this morning, but to be honest I haven't been able to see any of the changes I've read about. Battery indicator looks the same and so does the weather icon which I thought would be the two visible things. Look forward to hear what everyone finds.
