Guys, you may have noticed that the site has been slow all day. I can only attribute this to our continued growth. This came out of the blue today so we must have hit some major news sites and traffic is pouring in.

It is our mission to provide the best Droid/Android site on the net and to do that we need to deliver a speedy and efficient website for our members.

We have ordered from our dedicated service provider a super beefy machine and we should be able to transition the site over by tomorrow. The downtime should be pretty minimal (less then an hour) and we will likely do it in off hours later tonight/in the early morning.

I'm sorry for the current slowness of the site but we will do whatever it takes to make sure that we correct the problem and get you back to browsing and posting as soon as possible in the fastest manner possible.

In the mean time, we've turned off a few features on the site to save some cpu cycles. You can no longer see who's browsing threads/forums and the similar thread search has been turned off. Once we transition to the new server we will be able to re-enable these features.

Thanks for your patience and your continued support of our site!

Well when one offers the best one must expect growth. We all need to be patient and realize that our "home" is being repaired!

Mike

7700 Plus people online before the crash, so yes, it was quite busy today !!

It's only going to get busier, so the new server will Be Getting Broken in Real Fast :p

You guys did good work getting it back up do fast too !!! Nice Job BIG ADMINS !!!

the tweaks to save cpu cycles have made a HUGE improvement. Good call!

If the current server is rooted try downloading setCPU from the marketplace :icon_ banana:

Just imagine that less then 6 months ago you did not have to worry about the forum crashing.

Good you found out now, otherwise you would be down hard for the rest of the day if 2.1 really dropped.

Kudos to the Administrators for the prompt actions and attention to keep us up and running smoothly! :) mike
