this is all my screen will do
DSCN0313.jpg

I didn't drop it, hit it, nothing....

I used it one minute, put it in my pocket, and took it out to answer a phone call. I shut off before i could answer and when i turned it back on i got this screen.

I've never herd of or seen this before. I doubt it can be fixed but does anyone have an idea?

Booting in recovery mode results in the same screen.

I can still receive messages and get a notification light. The home, menu, search and back buttons still light up as well.

reminds me of Poltergeist..

Didn't reset it or anything

Sounds like a) the printed flex cable that attached the screen to the motherboard is shot; or b) your video memory is toast.

Probably not fixable, if it's giving you that same screen in recovery it's definitely not an OS issue.

does anyone know what they will replace it with? I've herd before that they are out of original droids....

I'm also due for an upgrade but i really want to wait for the Bionic.

probably a refurbed OG, they gave me a refurbed OG like a month ago.

Well I thought when a phone was discontinued they replaced warranty phones with their upgraded bretheren, so Droid 2 in this case... but if you just got an og a month ago....

Sent from my ThunderBolt using DroidForums

Well I just put a old phone on my account until I make it to the store.

I did notice that the screen still works as far as touching it...

It rang and i slid my finger across like normal and it answered the call. If I were to fix it....what would I replace? Does it just sound like the ribbon cable?

This is my day one release droid and I'm kinda close to it if that makes any sense. I would rather have this one than a referb.

what do you think... ribbon cable?

If its a day one did then your warranty is done anyway and you'd be paying assurion for a replacement and you might get a droid 2.

If it were the cable the touch wouldn't function. Video memory as toast appears to be the verdict.
