Just wondering if the new gingerbread update when it becomes avaliable will unroot are phones and not let us root again? I have been hearing this and I dont want to loose root access. I updated with the one from 8/17/11 but removed it cause I heard that they can get all are data which I didnt like. I dont know if its true or not though? And also I lost the voicemail app which I liked. But just really want to know if we do loose root access will there be a chance that someone can hack into it? Or is it like a permanent thing?

I didnt know if they all did that or not. Also how do you disable the Over the air updates? After I first rooted it did the OTA when I was not paying attention and it took me forever to reset it. How do I prevent this from happening again?
