Web Browser trouble

Had a few problems where I go to a web page and they have an advertisement for something (movie/ new products) and on a computer there is an X to close it. On my phone there is no X so now I can't see what is behind that add. Any ideas? I have pop-ups blocked but still!
A good example of what I am talking about is Smith& Wesson web site, you'll see what I am talking about right away.
