Verizon update_SCH-I545_NC5_to_NG6 unlock issue

I took the update yesterday. Since then, have been experiencing random reboots where the purple Galaxy logo swirls and then the red VZW screen; not a full reboot, so more like a soft reboot. It seems to happen during app usage if I shut off the screen with the app still running, seconds later it reboots, or after exiting out of an app.

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones then. Seriously no issues here, though I did a factory reset a couple days before getting the update.

I bet a reset would fix your issue. This used to be the case with moto phones getting updates a few years ago. There would always be some noticeable glitches that a fdr fixed.

Ok!! Battery life is roughly the same!! Only problem I have found is that apps that use location settings cannot get even your general location without location services turned on...even when connected to Wi-Fi

I had location services set to power saver when we left town on our trip. Google navigation told me it needed either high accuracy or GPS.

They changed the location services icon when is tracking you.

Just an update. No random restarts all day today. Seems to be stable. Back to the way it was not completely.

Today I have a new problem. No random restarts, but my GPS doesn't do anything, continually searches and drains the battery.

Thoughts?

You have an app that is pulling your location settings?? I just keep mine off usually thou. If that doesn't fix it, you may need to reflash since you just started over.

No running app. Turned on Endomondo that tracks my bike rides and it just says "Locating" for the GPS. GPS Status and Tools can't even find a GPS.
