Tethering preference, what should i do?

Ok im ready to try this on Christmas, but i dont know which program i should use. i have a vzw droid pro running 2.2.1

now should i use superoneclick 2.3.1 or z4root 1.3.0. also should i use barnacle wifi tether or android-wifi-tether version 1.3

Will i lose any feature with phone once i root it, as i dont wanna install any custom roms, i just wanna tether to tablet
