talk messages go to gmail instead

Hi new to droid as of yesterday, i cant get my talk messages to go to the talk app they only go to my gmail, or i dont get them at all. did i do something wrong? please help.


Update: now no incoming gtalk messages are being received either in gtalk or gmail.

yea that sounds like what you have going on. if you sign into gtalk it should run idly in the background unless you have something killing it.

I opened the box last night, All i have done on the phone is install a couple of items from the android marketplace, haven't killed apps. gtalk never worked from the get go. i have the app open, and can send out messages, but i dont receive.
